Program Director

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the 5th Judicial District has an opening for a Program Director. CASA of the 5th Judicial District mobilizes community volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in foster care. The organization envisions a community where every child has an advocate and the opportunity to thrive. CASA of the 5th Judicial District is on a path to serve every foster child in our district by 2020.

QUALIFICATIONS: The Program Director should have a minimum of the following skills and experience:

  1. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in human service-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out the responsibilities of the Victim Director;
  2. The ability to supervise, communicate with and motivate CASA staff and volunteers to be effective in their roles is essential–experience with volunteers is preferred;
  3. Must have the ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities and individuals of diverse racial/economic/cultural backgrounds;
  4. Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families relating to child abuse and neglect is important; knowledge the court system is preferred;
  5. Must have the ability to oversee the coordination and implementation of Volunteer screening and training;
  6. The ability to manage and utilize data systems and synthesize that information to develop qualitative and quantitative outcome reports is essential;
  7. Must have skill in assessing, evaluating, prioritizing and handling multiple tasks, projects and demands and working with deadlines; skill in evaluating, analyzing, identifying and recommending solutions to complex problems.
  8. Basic knowledge of computers and word processing; superior oral and written communication skills are essential; and
  9. Commitment to CASA of the 5th Judicial Districts mission and program goals.

Some evening and weekend hours will be required in order to provide support and training for CASA volunteers. This is a 40 hour a week grant-funded position that may require working outside of the office in our district.

Resource Coordinator

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the 5th Judicial District has an opening for a Resource Coordinator. CASA of the 5th Judicial District mobilizes community volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in foster care. The organization envisions a community where every child has an advocate and the opportunity to thrive. CASA of the 5th Judicial District is on a path to serve every foster child in our district by 2020.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and organized individual to recruit, train and retain CASA volunteers, ensuring the highest level of advocacy for the appointed children of each CASA Volunteer. This position is also responsible for public awareness in our district.

This individual will have demonstrated expertise, two years or more, in the area of child advocacy (0-21 years of age) and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Need to be highly skilled in the area of volunteer management, with a natural affinity for recruiting and supporting volunteers.

Some evening and weekend hours will be required in order to provide support and training for CASA volunteers. This is a 35 hour a week grant-funded position that may require working outside of the office in our district.
