POPE COUNTY ADVOCATE SUPERVISOR

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Pope County Advocate Coordinator provides professional staff support to Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers ensuring that children who have been abused or neglected receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for supervision, recruitment, training, and coordination of cases in Pope County. The Volunteer Coordinator is a full-time position of no more than 40 hours per week. This is a grant-funded position

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Volunteer Coordinator should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social service-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
  • Experience with computer programs and data bases.
  • Commitment to CASA’s goals and mission.
  • Preference given for experience working with volunteers, and knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour
